The Grand Rapids LipDub
This video was created for the tourism bureau of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Newsweek had recently named Grand Rapids a "dying city", and so this video was their response. It showcased the liveliness of the city, weaving through popular attractions, and bringing out a crowd participation of over five thousand people.
Upon its release, the video was called "the greatest music video ever made" by Roger Ebert. It received over five million YouTube views, and vast international coverage. It is also what caused Grand Rapids being named the "Person of the Week" by ABC World News.
In a local news station's investigative story, it's value was estimated to be "clearly in the millions."
